Fall Meeting rundown

First off, a huge thank you to Jon and Sonja Matthews for opening their home to us for our fall meeting. If you couldn’t make it, here’s the business you missed. Can’t put the burgers and the fun into an email, sorry.

 

Directors,

A great time was had by all in attendence at the MEOBDA Fall Meeting hosted by Jon Matthews and his family.

If you were not there, here’s the rundown–

1. Jazz Band entry fees will be $5.00 this year (not $8.00 as in the past). If the invoice form in your packet shows $8.00 for
the jazz band, then go to meobda.org to download an updated invoice form.

2. Oologah will host the HS, JH, & 7th Grade Concert Band clinic on February 6 & 7, 2012. The Jazz Band auditions will be
in Oologah on Feb 6.

3. Wagoner will host the Jazz Band Clinic on April 2 & 3 as well as the 1st & 2nd Year Honor Bands on April 3.

Directors that attended the meeting received a packet of information regarding tryout entries, invoice forms, a financial statement and other important info.

This afternoon, I mailed those same packets to the schools of directors that were absent from the meeting. In that packet, will be a “director’s information card”. Please email to me, as soon as possible, the information that is requested on that card so that I can update the director’s roster. It is extremely important that we have current contact information for you in the event that inclement weather forces the postponement or cancellation of an audition or clinic.

Tuesday, April 5

8:45am 1st & 2nd Year seating.(1st Year on Stage; 2nd Year in Band Room.)

9:00am 1st & 2nd Year Rehearsals Begin. Jazz Band rehearsal begins

10:30-10:45 1st/2nd Year break

12:00pm Lunch break for ALL bands (lunch will be provided for the students)

1:15pm Afternoon rehearsals begin

3:00-3:15 1st/2ndYear break

4:30pm Supper break for ALL bands (dinner is on your own)

6:00pm Report for Concert–Be dressed and in assigned seats

This year, we are adding a 7th grade honor band. We will still have a junior high band consisting of students in grades 8 and 9 and a high school band of students grades 9-12. Freshmen may audition for either or both of the HS and JH honor bands.

Fall Meeting

Friday, July 30th, 2010

The fall meeting is scheduled for August 4 at 6:00 PM at Jon Matthew’s Casa. Please bring a side and their own drink. Please email Ken Self and let him know if you are attending and how many family members you are bringing. If you did not receive them by email, you may also contact Ken for directions to Jon’s house.
